Neck Of The Woods is a family friendly music festival in Townsville, North Queensland curated by Neighbourhood Sessions in partnership with the Townsville City Council/Northern Fringe Festival. Neck of the Woods celebrates Australian original music, and will host a lineup of up and coming Australian artists for a one night only event on the 25th of September in 2021. Neck Of The Woods Music Festival is returning to the community in 2021 after the heartbreaking cancellation of the 2020 festival. #NOTW has been reimagined with a few changes to keep the community safe in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival will be sneaking a little closer to the city this year, to a beautiful new home, Anderson Park Botanical Gardens, in the suburb of Mundingburra in Townsville. #NOTW will not include camping this year, however the festival will still feature much loved lifestyle activities such as yoga workshops, art installations, an interactive children’s area and a festival marketplace showcasing Townsville’s best street food and artisan market stalls.

Directions to the festival site will be well signed on the date of the event.

PARKING: 

Parking is available at the event in the festival car park.

 

PHOTO ID:

All Ages Event - Photo ID is strictly required for entry to the festival for patrons over 18. 

WRISTBANDS:

Wristbands will be issued on entry to the festival grounds (Different colours represent different ticket types - Day Pass: under 18/18+). Wristbands are to be worn and visible at all times. Wristbands are non-refundable, non-transferable and invalid if tampered with or broken. If you do not have a wristband or are wearing an incorrect wristband, you will need to purchase a new wristband or leave the festival grounds.

#NOTW will not include camping this year due to COVID-19 restrictions

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND COVID-19

Yes we are practising social distancing at the festival this year and working closely with Queensland Health.  We will provide you with any important information via our socials closer to the festival date.

FESTIVAL BEHAVIOUR:

The Neighbourhood Sessions Team and Festival Security team have the right to refuse entry or ask patrons to leave who behave inappropriately/illegally/offensively. 

WEATHER:

The festival will go ahead regardless of weather - with the exception of an extreme weather event (eg. Cyclone/Flood/Severe Storm). 

DRINKING WATER:  

Bottled drinking water is available to be purchased from food trucks on site.

FOOD AND DRINKS:

Several delicious food trucks will be available at the event.

Alcohol - A licensed bar will be available at the event to purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Underage drinking or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Police will be notified and appropriate action taken if necessary. Strictly NO BYO is permitted at this venue.

ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES: 

Those caught with illegal substances in their possession will be asked to leave the festival grounds and dealt with by law.

 

LOSS/THEFT OF PERSONAL ITEMS:

The Neighbourhood Sessions Team are unable to accept responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal items. 

 

RUBBISH:

Please utilise the bins provided around the festival grounds. Please use these facilities thoughtfully.

ANIMALS: 

No pets or animals are allowed on site (Excluding guide dogs or assistance dogs) 

REFUNDS: 

Tickets are non refundable or transferrable - please select your ticket type carefully. 

CASH OUT FACILITIES: 

An ATM will be available on site.

COVID-19 Ticketing Terms & Conditions

1. Patrons acknowledge the festival may be required by law to provide contact information to

public health officers on request.

2. The Festival will not share this contact information with any third party other than the relevant health authority and will not use the information for promotional purposes.

3. Patrons must not attend if they have COVID-19 related symptoms, have been in close

contact with a person who is COVID-19 positive, have travelled overseas or to a COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days or are COVID-19 positive.

4. Patrons must not attend if they are required to self-isolate and the event falls within the isolation period.

5. Patrons agree to abide by all social distancing and health protocols.

6. Patrons agree to follow the instructions of venue staff at all times.

7. If patrons do not comply with protocols or authorised requests when on the venue premises they may be asked to leave immediately without refund or further recourse.

8. Refunds or exchange of tickets will be available to any customer who is required to self isolate (due to being a confirmed case or is a close contact of a confirmed case) and the event falls within the isolation period.

9. For attendee safety, the venue capacity of the festival will be limited to abide by the 1 person per 2 square meters rule to ensure social distancing is maintained.

Disclaimer: Patrons acknowledge that while the venue has taken all reasonable health and safety precautions to keep the audience, staff and performers safe, patrons enter the venue at their own risk without recourse to claim against the venue regarding health outcomes.

CAN I PURCHASE A FAMILY PASS?  

We do not have a family pass ticket. This year we have kept the prices down for youth passes and tickets for children under 12 are free. Please purchase separate tickets for youth and adults. Children under 12 do not require tickets. 

 

CAN I BRING GAZEBO'S INTO THE FESTIVAL SITE? 

You are not permitted to bring a gazebo into the festival site as this can obstruct the view of patrons, disrupt the festival experience and create trip hazards.

 

IS NECK OF THE WOODS WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY? 

Yes, Neck Of The Woods is wheelchair friendly - there will be accessible toilet access.

 

IS THERE PHONE/INTERNET RECEPTION AT NECK OF THE WOODS?

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

 

The safety of all those who attend the NOTW2021 is our absolute priority. The festival will occur in a COVID safe environment and follow all advice provided by Queensland Health.

Whilst attending NOTW2021, all patrons, staff and contractors will be required to adhere to all Queensland Health directives as well as all local, state and federal laws.  

Failure to comply with health measures or directives given by either local, state or federal governments, or Event Staff, may result in eviction without the right to re-enter or to obtain a refund.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

We are blessed with a large festival site of 12800m2 and we have limited our maximum capacity to make it easy for everybody to practice social distancing effectively, while having a good time.

  • Please make sure to social distance 1.5 meters away from your fellow festival goers

  • When standing in a queue (Bus, bar, food stall, amenities) be mindful of keeping 1.5 meters away from others

  • Stage performance will be stopped if people are not practising safe social distancing

  • Sanitise your hands regularly at one of the sanitising stations located around the festival

  • Wash your hands regularly


Feel free to wear a mask at the festival however it is not mandatory at this stage. Patrons can wear a mask in the instances where it is not possible to socially distance

REFUNDS

If you have recently tested positive to COVID-19 or are a close contact of someone who has, are still awaiting your test results and have been advised to self-isolate, have been in a COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days or are showing symptoms of COVID-19 on the planned event date, please do not attend Neck Of The Woods 2021. 

Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain, loss of speech or movement.

It is important that you are COVID-safe and remain at home, self-isolate, and follow the current health advice.

If any of the above applies to you, you are able to get a refund of your ticket. To request a refund or ticket transfer to a future event, please email sales@neighbourhoodsessions.com  outlining details of your situation. You may be required to supply proof to support your request. 

We understand these are uncertain times and really appreciate your support for the live music industry! Please hang in there! Given the recent cancellations of our fellow events, and in the circumstance that our festival is forced to cancel due to border closures or health advice, we will postpone our event and release a revised date as soon as possible. In this unfortunate circumstance, all ticket holders that are not able to attend the new date will be eligible for a full refund.


BEFORE THE EVENT
 

​To facilitate contract tracing ALL festival patrons will be required to register through the festival QR code. The QR code will be available on the day of the festival and can be accessed on your way to the festival through buses, camping and entry gates. To help avoid queues, please download the App in advance (REQUIRED APP).

 

You will also be required to verbally agree to the Covid-19 self assessment checklist at the entry gates

  • Keep up to date on how we are working towards implementing a COVID-safe event by following our socials.

  • Download the “Check in QLD” app via Apple App store or Google Play. The Check In Qld app is designed to help keep Queenslanders COVID Safe when we’re enjoying venues like pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes across Queensland. It is a contactless, free, secure and convenient way for customers to sign into a QLD business or event. Downloading this app allows you to pre-populate your contract tracing details, meaning you do not need to type them again upon entry. You will be required to provide contract tracing details as a condition of entry. For more information please click here.

  • Check our info page for conditions of entry including bag restrictions and prohibited items - Before attending the event, please conduct a COVID-19 symptom self assessment check. If you answer yes to any of the questions, please follow the health advice provided and DO NOT attend the event. Please do not attend the event if any of the following apply :
     

    • You are presenting with COVID-19 symptoms, these include : fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain, loss of speech or movement

    • You are required to quarantine after being diagnosed with Covid-19

    • You are required to self-isolate after being identified as a close contact to someone diagnosed with COVID-19

    • You are awaiting back the test results for a COVID-19 test

    • You have been abroad or in a COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days
       

If any of the above apply, please DO NOT ATTEND the event, instead stay home and self-isolate. If you are sick and think you might have COVID-19, check your symptoms using HealthDirect's Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptom checker and follow the current health advice. In this instance a refund of your ticket or a ticket transfer to a future event will be available. See refunds for further details 

 

AT THE EVENT
 

  • Practice good hygiene by washing and sanitising your hands regularly using the bathrooms and widely visible sanitation stations throughout the site.

  • Use tap and go payment methods

  • Adhere to social distancing regulations, remembering to keep 1.5m from those around you.

  • Wear a mask in the instances where it is not possible to socially distance.

  • Familiarise yourself with the location of the medical facilities, for if you start to feel unwell especially if you start to experience COVID-19 symptoms. In this instance please make yourself known to COVID-19 marshals, security or event staff.

  • If you are referred to our medical facility before or during the event for COVID-19 like symptoms, you may be refused entry or asked to leave for everyone's health and safety. In this instance please contact Moshtix online to discuss refund options.

  • Comply with signage around the event site, in particular those relating to social distancing methods and crowd capacities in areas such as bathrooms, VIP and bars.

  • Follow directives given by security, police, event staff or COVID-19 marshals at all times.

  • Adhere to crowd flow measures and markers showing direction of pedestrian traffic. Please keep in mind that the music can be halted if directives are not being followed, and at worst, the event could cease early if patron behaviour is deemed unsafe. In this instance no refunds would be offered.

  • Keep updated via our socials on how you can remain COVID-safe while at the event. By attending the event you are giving your implied consent for your information to be shared with QLD health for contract tracing if required.
